Home-Start Blaby District was formed on the 1st November 1999 and expanded into taking the Borough of Oadby & Wigston on the 1st April 2005. We employ five part-time staff and we are run by a Board of Trustees and supported in the community by Advisors (please click on Annual Report for further information). We receive our core funding from Leicestershire County Council, Children and Young People Service. Our Service Level Agreement with the Council is to support, through Home Visiting, 22 Families in the Blaby District and 6 families in the Borough of Oadby & Wigston. Home-visiting support consists of 2-3 hours a week by a volunteer who is normally a parent themselves - families are matched with a volunteer on the basis of level of need and the availability of a suitable volunteer.
