We rely totally on the commitment, reliability, confidentiality and enthusiasm of our volunteers who come from all over our area to support local families and we thank them for the fun and enjoyment they bring to the whole scheme.

All volunteers who join us begin by completing our Course of Preparation covering topics including: Being a Home-Start Volunteer; Values & Attitudes; Family Life; Being a Parent; Listening; Confidentiality; Safeguarding Children. The course is fun and at times challenging! All volunteers are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau to an enhanced level before they undertake any of the varying roles within our organisation and receive regular support and supervision, both individually and on a group basis.

Volunteers can choose how they give their time, opportunities include: Home-visiting, which is our core work; helping at Family Group; becoming a Trustee; helping at events or in the office – or even all of the above!
